Also, Im not sure if its possible without owning PoF, perhaps it is, perhaps it isn't. Someone else who knows might wanna answer. The good thing with owning s4, aside from Skyscale, is the rollerbeetle mount, a legendary trinket, and one of the best maps for farming gold/ascended accessories. Totally worth it.
This can easily be factored in as a 33% increase, or 391.02 u/s. Bringing in their own research, they settled on 392 u/s as the baseline on-foot movement speed for the purpose of this test. So if. 392 u/s = Distance traveled á Travel time on foot (with 100% Swiftness) whereas. Mount speed = That same distance á Travel time on the mount.
Everyone says the best ways are "do strike missions for eternal ice shards, buy 5 a day from dragonfall, do hearts, etc." I am here to tell you that these people are all wrong, well intentioned but wrong. These ways may be fastest for farming currency in the long run but for the skyscale there is a better way.
I use almost all mounts. Griffon when I have a lot of verticality to do the dive to gain speed, Skimmer for Water, Rabbit if I need to get somewhere higher (for griffon for example) and if I just need to run around the Raptor. But I think when I get the Beetle I probably will use the beetle more instead of the raptor.
Guess that play the way you want to play only goes so far. Hopefully we will get normal flying by at least 10.1. The first thing that should be done is to increase the maximum speed when grounded. Ground mounts donât need to be at 310% right when a character reaches level 20, but perhaps increase by 50% every 10 levels so that by the time youâre level 60 youâre traveling at 300% speed. This will make travel in lower-level zones without flying
Though I now mostly resort to Skyscale for climbing/flying around, Griffon for (fast) flying long distance and the rollerbeetle for speedy ground travel. I suppose the only ones I don't use as much anymore are the raptor and the springer.
You get the first mount (Raptor) by playing through the first story chapter. 3 other mounts (Springer, Skimmer and Jackal) are unlocked throughout the PoF maps. Griffon is a "hidden" mount that is unlocked through a collection that requires finishing the PoF story and 250 gold. The Roller Beetle mount requires LW Season 4 Episode 3.
WvW is the fastest. If you have access to a PoF guildhall you can run backwards from there to Highlands in relatively short order and pick up all the HP's in ~45min or so even on the basic mounts. EoD is also fast, but having Arborstone and a skyscale is almost required to get it done even halfway quickly. 1.
